About Us!
In 2018, the two SOCES electives joined together: Yearbook and Journalism. Then, the Broadcasting division was also created. A major component of news has always been in a video-news format. So we tried to bring that to SOCES as well. Currently, all 3 have fully integrated within one another. The goal of creating SOCES Media was to tell the story of the lives of students at Sherman Oaks CES.

SOCES Media is a fun, student-led environment. We try our best to bring updated News to SOCES Students and others in the form of our 3 branches: Journalism, Yearbook, and Broadcasting.

Now, the SOCES Media goals are to progressively develop digitally through social media pages and the website, to continue to grow Broadcasting, and to continue the outstanding work of Yearbook and Journalism.

There are many brands of multi-media companies that do an amazing job of bringing news to their audience. We take after those companies and always strive to create an interactive environment here at SOCES.

Pattarin S.
Journalism Editor-in-Chief
Pattarin is President of Speech and Debate and placed 25th in CA for Program Oral Interpretation. Pattarin is also first chair oboe in the SOCES Wind Ensemble and has studied at Colburn Music School in downtown Los Angeles. In her free time, she looks at cute videos of cats, listens to Taylor Swift, and explores new ice cream places.
Oscar O.
Sports Editor
Oscar is a senior who also serves as captain of the Cross Country team, Vice President of Latinos Unidos, Hispanic National Recognition recipient, and a 3x Marathoner.
Sienna Y.
Yearbook Editor-in-Chief
Sienna is a senior and this is her third year in the journalism class. Although she started out by starring in the SOCES This Week videos, she soon found that she excelled when working on the school yearbook.
Tierra T.
Yearbook Assistant Editor
Tierra is a senior and this is her second year in Journalism. Initially, she started out in Broadcasting, then switched over to Yearbook. After high school, she plans on becoming a Pediatric Surgeon.

Journalism Web Editor
Jeremy is a junior at SOCES and this is his 3rd year in Journalism. Jeremy also loves scuba diving and goes to dive occasionally. Fun fact, he also made this website!

Journalism Layout Editor
Marina is a senior and President of the Campus Beautification Club as well as Secretary of CSF and UNICEF. She's happy to be apart of the team.

Kayla is a senior at SOCES and this is her second year in journalism.

Cerise is a junior and has been a part of SOCES Media for three years. Cerise also loves Star Trek.

This is Anya's first year in Journalism and she’s super excited to be a part of the team! She loves volunteering outside of school, listening to Lana Del Rey, and writing poetry.

Megan is a senior, and this is her first year in journalism. She loves making Google Forms, petting stray cats, and listening to 90s rap. You might see her around school or taking a nap in Mr. Paks room.
