Our Program

About Us!

In 2018, the two SOCES electives joined together: Yearbook and Journalism. Then, the Broadcasting division was also created. A major component of news has always been in a video-news format. So we tried to bring that to SOCES as well. Currently, all 3 have fully integrated within one another. The goal of creating SOCES Media was to tell the story of the lives of students at Sherman Oaks CES.

SOCES Media is a fun, student-led environment. We try our best to bring updated News to SOCES Students and others in the form of our 3 branches: Journalism, Yearbook, and Broadcasting.

Now, the SOCES Media goals are to progressively develop digitally through social media pages and the website, to continue to grow Broadcasting, and to continue the outstanding work of Yearbook and Journalism.

There are many brands of multi-media companies that do an amazing job of bringing news to their audience. We take after those companies and always strive to create an interactive environment here at SOCES.

Journalism Editor-in-Chief

Jeremy is a Senior at SOCES and has been a part of Journalism for 4 years! One of his favorite hobbies besides Journalism is SCUBA Diving. In the future, he plans on attending medical school to become a doctor. :3

Sydney is a Junior at SOCES and this is her second year in Media. She loves spending time with her friends and family and loves listening to music. Once she graduates she sees herself pursuing a career in either psychology or early childhood education.

Garrett is a Junior at SOCES and this is his first year in Journalism. Outside of school, Garrett loves photography and hiking. He plans on pursuing exercise science or film after high school. He is writing, filming, and producing a new show called Meet SOCES.

Class Manager

Rowan is a sophomore at SOCES and has been part of Journalism for two years. Her passions include singing, playing piano and guitar, and cheer. She plans to pursue a career in Hollywood.

Gyllwa is this year's Co Yearbook Editor in Chief and is a senior at SOCES. Her goal for this year is to make the best yearbook students have ever seen, so students can think back to all the fun memories they made. In her free time, she likes to do her makeup and practice new looks.
