School’s back, and football’s back! The 2023 NFL Season kicked off on September 7, with the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs looking to start their title defense against the Detroit Lions. This year, however, may not be as simple for the Chiefs like it was last year.

Other teams in the AFC that might be dangerously good this year are the Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins. The Broncos appointed Sean Payton as head coach, hoping to have a better season than the disaster class that Nathaniel Hackett led last season. However, early injuries in training camp can prove to have already deterred the Broncos’ chances. The Baltimore Ravens have finally given star quarterback Lamar Jackson his big payday, hoping to instill confidence in him in order to finally get the Ravens over the playoff hump that crashes through them every season. Last but not least, the Miami Dolphins are ready to have an even stronger season than last year, where they made the playoffs. Injuries played a key role in their elimination last season, but they hope to remain healthy and hope to rival the Buffalo Bills for the AFC East division title.

Over in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to run it back as NFC Champions and go back to the Super Bowl, while dark horse teams like the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks are also looking to go deep. The NFC, however, seems to be on a much lower competitive level than the AFC, with whole divisions like the NFC South and most of the NFC West seem to lack direction in their teams currently. However, a plethora of rookie and young quarterbacks in the conference will play a key role in how the season turns out as well, such as first overall pick Bryce Young with the Carolina Panthers.

A million and one different storylines, a million and one possibilities, and a million and one hours of football are ready to be played. The NFL season never disappoints, and the 2023 season is shaping up to be another unforgettable year of football.
