Congratulations to our SOCES Cheer Team who took first place at the East Valley Divisional Cheer Competition! Last Friday night, March 10, the Cheerleaders won first place in their divisions for the competition at Poly high school. Friday's competition was not an official competition that determined rank, but it was the first competition of the season! The cheerleaders stated that with the crowd being packed it was nerve-wracking but a good experience for the newer members of the team. When asked about the competition, one cheerleader stated, “The routine needs different aspects for everyone; dance, cheer, stunts, individual and different groups.” Our cheer team competed with 13 schools in total, then they split into 3 divisions!
This Saturday, March 18 from 1 pm to 4 pm there will be a league cheer competition in the gym. It will be the first time our school will host a competition in our new gym! The coach, Ms. Vasser stated, “There are 13 schools coming, meaning there will be 14 schools in total that will be competing this Saturday!” This Saturday’s League competition for east valley will have all 14 schools compete with each other and it doesn’t matter what division they're in. Come and support your Cheerleaders!
Good Job and Good luck!
