As some of us may know, college week is approaching! College week is a week-long event that allows students to thoroughly think about the college they want to attend or even start making their lists.

Recently, a college fair for all of LA county also took place on September 30th in LA Valley college. The college fair allowed students to meet representatives from colleges and they were given opportunities to connect with said representatives to try and figure out which college is best for them. All of the UC’s were there, and many USC’s and private colleges as well. It was a 4 hour-long convention, and there was even free food! There were also workshops about Financial Aid and the UC application process. If you missed this, but really wanted to go, there will be many college fairs in the future that you'll be notified about on Schoology.

College Week is extremely valuable and important because it allows students (especially younger students) to really gain information and knowledge about colleges and put them on track to figure out which college is best for them. There will also be another college fair on October 27, 2023 from 9:00-11:00 AM here at SOCES! There will be many representatives from various colleges all across the state. This amazing opportunity will authorize students to make important connections and decisions and even help them with their admissions in terms of what to write about on their application.

College fairs are also important because they allow students to ask questions and gather information about the colleges you may be interested in. These college fairs also allow students to organize their ideas or thoughts. For instance, which colleges may be their top choices (reaches), target, and safety schools. Overall, the College Fair plays an extremely important role in helping students to start planning their college journeys ahead of time and even succeed in the future because they will be more prepared.
