Senior Picnic 2023

BY: PATTARIN SEAYUB

The senior picnic took place in the SOCES garden on April 18, 2023 from 3-6 PM. Those eligible to attend enjoyed putting on temporary tattoos, playing basketball with the bouncy houses, cornhole, and pingpong. Later on, seniors participated in an egg hunt that had Sour Patch candies and chocolate inside them. Three of the eggs had $10 Starbucks gift cards in them.

Carla Robinson ‘23 found two. “I guess my good egg finding could have been contributed to the fact I thought prom tickets were in the eggs,” Robinson comments. “Therefore, when I entered, I was about to start a Career Pack like in the Hunger Games.”

Seniors also were able to eat burgers and fries from The Habit, Kona Ice, lemonade, soda, chips, cookies, and cotton candy. There was much to do in the three hours people spent relaxing from the past few stressful weeks.

“I really enjoyed how relaxed it felt and I had fun hanging out with friends,” Katelyn Villon ‘23 said.

Additionally, there were raffles to get second servings of The Habit. Two winners got free tickets to prom, one of them being Adriana Zapata ‘23.

“I’m very happy I had the opportunity to win a prom ticket!” she says. “Now, I can vote for Sofia Arancibia and Eric Sun for prom queen and king!”

Even though some may have missed out on the picnic, there’s still events to look forward to. Senior Awards Night is coming up on May 23 and prom is on May 28. Make sure to keep up your grades and attendance to participate!
