The first buddy party of the year was on Wednesday, September 13th, during fourth period in the school garden. Fourth grade buddy parties are an event held by ASB members. These parties are meant to welcome the new fourth graders. Each fourth grader is assigned a group with more than ten of their peers accompanied with two ASB members. There are four buddy parties that take place in one school year. These buddy parties consist of fun activities such as a water balloon toss, signing posters, red light green light, charades, heads up seven up, and the cupid shuffle dance. Fourth grader Vicky, says “My favorite activity was the water balloon toss. We had a lot of fun!” Mr. Jocz, ASB teacher says,”The main goal is to really bridge the gap between our different communities on campus. Let's start seeing the little SOCES Knights not just as tiny kids with backpacks rolling through the hallways but as fellow knights that also have their own passions and interests. We want to bring people together and make the school a better place for all.” Many students loved this Buddy Party and are looking forward to more buddy parties in future!
