SOCES band just had their first concert of the year, Solo Ensemble Night. Solo Ensemble Night is a concert held once a year to show off SOCES band member's solos, quartets, trios, duos, etc.

Flute player Samantha Briones said, “I think Solo Ensemble was very fun. I wish more people had gone, but we practiced really hard these past two months to present chamber music for friends and family. I think everyone did really well.”

Clarinet and piano player Sunny Cai said, “I had a lot of fun playing with everybody, especially the little groups, and getting to know everyone a little bit more and I hope next time more people come, so you should come next time.” As both of these students mentioned, it would be great to have more support so make sure to join us again next year!

The amazing band teacher Mr. Turner also had a few comments about solo ensemble night. He said, “Solo ensemble was fun, elegant, short, and to the point.” A lot of the band members think it was fun and they all had a great time. Overall, it was a success! However, many wish that there were more people performing. There were more people than last year and I'm sure that there will be even more next year. If you missed it this year, then make sure you show up next time!
