The SOCES Knights are finishing the regular season on a high note. With a 12–0 win over Sun Valley Magnet on Friday, October 30, the Knights secured first place in the Valley League and improved their overall record to 11–10. The win also marked their second consecutive victory heading into the playoffs.
SOCES put together a strong performance, especially on defense, keeping Sun Valley Magnet off the scoreboard for the entire game. The Knights held their opponents to zero points while finding the end zone enough times to come away with the 12–0 victory. It was an important win, not just for the team’s record, but for securing the top spot in the league.
Now the focus shifts to the playoffs. The Knights will travel to Bell on Wednesday, November 4, at 3:00 p.m. to take on Bell, the tournament’s No. 1 seed.
Finishing first in the Valley League is a big accomplishment for the team, but the season isn’t over yet. The Knights hope to make it to the finals for the second straight year, but first they’ll have to get past a tough Bell team on its home field. It won’t be an easy matchup, but the Knights will be looking to prove they’re ready for the challenge.
