From November 5 to December 5, the parent center will be holding a photography exhibition created by the Photography classes that covers the puppet shows and student musicians. The installations highlight different effects and techniques that students in the first and second year photography classes have learnt so far, in order to cover events in art classes taught by Mr. Turner, Ms. Zweig, Ms. Ferrante, and Ms. Fisher.

Students from SOCES Photography classes created groups and took pictures of these separate classes all by themselves. They aimed to capture spontaneous events using different techniques and lenses in order to show the emotion and story behind them. Even though many students worked on this project in groups, many decided to create solo photo essays which were also included in the exhibition. Students were able to photograph their classmates’ emotions by observing them and understanding what they were thinking at that moment. Mr. Devotto thinks ,“This unique opportunity to capture moments in real time is what elevates their metacognition.”
